Evan Hughes
Evan started dancing in 2004 and retains an infectious enthusiasm for both moving with wild abandon and searching out the subtler side of lead and follow. He is passionate about everything he does and has won nearly every competition there is!
Evan is a founding member of the Melbourne troupe Echoes of Harlem, and is a past member of Bratpack and Scatpack. His own greatest critic, Evan is eager to be better and relishes the opportunities for improvement that teaching demands. Teaching, performing, and competing are essential parts of Evan's dancing world, as is anything that offers an avenue to further develop his dancing skills for the social floor. |

Cathie Gough
Cathie's loves blues!! Her love of blues comes from an inspiring crowded blues dimly-lit dance floor. She loves to aspire to help other dancers achieve great partner rapport when on the dance floor, and have the best dance they can every dance. Cathie has drawn on all kinds of body movement to dance and teach blues over the past 3 years. Blues for her is all about the yummy partner connection, and whatever feels good for both the lead and follow.

Meral Nieman
Meral's fidgety feet have taken her all over Australia and the USA, where she has danced, DJed and competed at some of the world's biggest swing dance events. At home, Meral is a dance teacher by profession and runs Next Door Blues, Adelaide's premier blues dance night. She also bakes a mean cupcake and exhausts onlookers by her impressive ability to social dance all night in heels and a corset.
With a remarkable string of teaching appearances under her belt (including Church City Blues and Swing Camp Oz) Meral is thrilled to be joining the teaching team at Blues Before Sunrise. |
